On November 24, the 2022 Shenzhen Marine Industry Investment Promotion Conference, hosted by Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources and Qianhai Administration, with the theme of “Win the Future Together with Dark Blue”, was held in Futian Convention and Exhibition Center.

At the meeting, Beijing ZEHO Waterfront Ecological Environment Treatment Co., Ltd. (ZEHO ECO), Shenzhen SEZ Construction and Development Group Co., Ltd. (SEZ Group) and the Third Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources (TIO) jointly signed the “Cooperation Framework Agreement on Jointly Promoting the High Quality Construction of Marine Ecology”, which aims to carry out in-depth cooperation in marine ecology and resource protection and utilization.

Wang Huaben, Deputy General Manager of the SEZ Group, Qi Hongshuai, Researcher of the TIO and Director of Laboratory of Coastal and Marine Geology, signed the Agreement with Xu Shan, Vice President of ZEHO ECO and President of South China respectively on behalf of the three parties.

The three parties will adhere to the cooperation purpose of “sharing the mission and seeking common development”. The SEZ Group will give full play to the space carrier advantages of the Ocean New Town, a platform for state-owned enterprises and marine industry. The TIO will give full play to the advantages of high-end marine ecological talents and scientific and technological research and development. ZEHO ECO will give full play to its advantages in technology application, industrial chain integration, project implementation and industrial operation resources in the ecological environment. The three parties will work together to conduct in-depth research in marine ecological protection, marine resources protection and utilization and other fields, and jointly promote the building of a national demonstration base and a global leading marine ecological demonstration benchmark focusing on marine industry chain supplement, chain strengthening and chain extension, with the Marine New Town as the main space carrier, to help Shenzhen build a global marine central city.

SEZ Group is a wholly state-owned enterprise in Shenzhen. In the marine industry, SEZ Group is the long chain unit of the marine economy industry chain of Shenzhen’s strategic emerging industry determined by the SASAC of Shenzhen. It is the main body for the overall implementation of the development and construction of the new marine city determined by the Shenzhen Municipal Government. They committed to building a comprehensive platform for marine industry development and helping Shenzhen build a global marine center city.

As a national public welfare comprehensive marine scientific research institution directly under the Ministry of Natural Resources, TIO is mainly engaged in marine basic research, application research and high-tech research, promoting marine scientific and technological progress, and providing scientific and technological support for marine management, public service, marine economic development and marine security.

ZEHO ECO is a National High-tech Enterprise and Beijing Enterprise Technology Center. Focusing on the coastal area management, we will deepen the four key areas of marine ecological restoration, planning and design, industrial operation, and digital technology, integrate multidisciplinary disciplines to provide an integrated implementation scheme of planning design construction digital delivery intelligent operation, and focus on the ecological transformation of seawalls, the construction of blue and green ecological networks, the comprehensive management of beaches, mangrove restoration, coral reef cultivation, and the improvement of coastal biodiversity, saltwater wetland park and other businesses.

According to the Agreement, the three parties will set up a Marine Ecological Protection and Restoration Laboratory in Shenzhen Ocean New City, focusing on technology research and development in areas such as ecological seawall, coastal beach ecological renovation and restoration, mangrove and coastal wetland protection and restoration, marine ecosystem protection and biodiversity improvement, and are committed to speeding up the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, improving enterprises’ independent innovation ability, and implementing precise scientific and technological services, Make contributions to the planning and design of marine ecological restoration, the implementation and promotion of projects, and the technological progress of the industry.
